Training for the Linguistics Olympiad
How to train your students for the Olympiad
In principle the linguistics olympiads don’t assume any prior knowledge of linguistics, but, in fact, training makes a lot of difference. An increasing number of schools are providing some kind of training for their students, and here are some suggestions for how to do it.
- Run a Linguistics Club (e.g. in the lunch break).
- Suggest some reading.
- Include linguistic starters in your teaching of (e.g.) foreign languages.
